Thailand’s Maya Bay on Phi Phi Island has been ranked as the fifth-best beach in the world by the UK website Beach Atlas.
According to Beach Atlas, the Golden Beach Awards 2024 recognized the top 100 beaches worldwide by counting votes from travellers, photographers, and influencers worldwide. Factors taken into account include natural beauty, classic appeal, nightlife, lifestyle, community value, biodiversity, and cultural significance.
Bora Bora Beach in French Polynesia has secured the first spot this year. After Copacabana Beach in Brazil, Maya Bay in Krabi province, southern Thailand, has been placed fifth.
The list featured Pattaya Beach in Chonburi and Railay Beach, both ranked 12th and 66th, respectively, along with Maya Bay.
