As announced by the Thai Ministry of Transport, a railway service between Bangkok and Vientiane will be launched by Thailand and Laos on 13-14 July 2024.
The journey commences at Krung Thep Apiwat Central Terminal in Bangkok and proceeds to Udon Thani Province and Nong Khai Provincial, ultimately ending at Khamsavath station in Vientiane.
By partnering with the Lao National Railways, this railway project aims to enhance tourism and goods transport in Thailand and establish a better connection to China. This is the first step in this initiative.
